Hey peeps pls help me decide where to go n celebrate...i'm thinking of the last one...sofra turkish restaurant...a few people i know have been there n have given good feedback..so so?
Al-Hamra Lebanese Restaurant 23 Lorong Mambong, Tel: 6464-8488Opens: 11.30am to 2.30pm, 6 to 11pm daily This elegant restaurant offers excellent Middle Eastern cuisine. Executive chef Ghazi George Khanashat from Lebanon imports most of the ingredients from Lebanon and Dubai. Try the mixed kebabs ($22 for two) and mixed seafood grill ($28).
Anatolia Restaurant #02-58/59 Far East Plaza, Tel: 6836-3352Opens: 10am to 10.30pm daily This no-frills cafe was one of the first Turkish eateries to open in town, in 1998. Try the iskender (beef or chicken with tomato sauce, served with bread, $7) and lahmagun (Turkish pizza, $3).
Cafe le Caire 39 Arab Street, Tel: 6292-0979Opens: 11.30am to 4.30am dailyOpened in 2001, it was one of the first eateries to add authentic Middle Eastern fare to Arab Street. The decor is simple, and prices are affordable. Main courses range between $8 and $10. Try the harissa (porridge dish with lamb, $6) and mandhi (roast lamb with rice, $22 for two).

Try the appetiser platter ($16.90 for two), roast leg of lamb ($16.90) and a range of Turkish pizzas.
Samar Arabic Cafe19 Baghdad Street, Tel: 6398-0530 Opens: 24 hours This groovy chill-out joint is where Arabian Nights meets funky downtown club. The food is mainly Yemeni. Try the sfeeha (Syrian meat pie, $6), mandhi (porridge dish with meat, from $20) and umm ali (Egyptian milk and pastry pudding, $8).
Sofra Turkish Restaurant#02-42 Shaw Towers, Tel: 6291-1433Opens: 11.30am to 9.30pm daily. It boasts one of the lowest prices for restaurants, with main courses priced between $4.80 and $14.90.Its three Turkish chefs specialise in kebabs. Try the Sofra kebab (pastry stuffed with eggplant, cheese, tomato, walnuts and meat, $13.90) and sultan kebab (lamb with potato and cheese, $9.90).
